Data Converters (ADC/DAC) Overview
BeiLuo supplies genuine Texas Instruments data converters, the analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters that connect the physical world to the digital system. TI offers a broad portfolio of successive-approximation and delta-sigma ADCs, voltage-output and current-output DACs, and integrated analog front ends, spanning resolutions from a few bits to 24 bits and sample rates from a few samples per second to hundreds of megasamples per second. A precision delta-sigma ADC such as the ADS1115 provides 16-bit resolution with a programmable gain amplifier, an internal reference and an I2C interface in a small package, which makes it a practical way to add accurate measurement to a microcontroller design without an external front end. A dual voltage-output DAC such as the DAC8552 provides two 16-bit channels over SPI, which suits control loops, calibration and setpoint generation. Choosing a converter is a balance among resolution, sample rate, channel count, interface, reference and power, and the right part depends on what is being measured and how fast it changes. The converter often sets the accuracy of the whole measurement, so its reference and layout matter as much as its resolution. Every device BeiLuo ships is factory-traceable and includes an import declaration, a certificate of origin and a RoHS compliance file. Our FAE team helps you match the converter to the sensor, plan the reference and layout and verify the noise performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
What resolution do I need for my measurement?
Choose the resolution that makes the smallest change you must detect visible above the noise. A 16-bit converter such as the ADS1115 suits most sensor and process measurements.
Resolution is only useful if the reference and layout support it.
How do I get the best accuracy from an ADC?
Use a clean, stable reference, decouple the supply close to the device, and keep the analog input away from digital noise. The layout and reference often limit accuracy more than the converter.
Our FAE team reviews the reference and layout during design-in.
When do I need a DAC as well as an ADC?
A DAC is needed when the system must output an analog signal, such as a control setpoint, a calibration voltage or a bias. A dual DAC such as the DAC8552 covers two such outputs over SPI.
The control loop often needs both a converter in and a converter out.
